An inspiring gentleman proves it’s never too late to learn!

An inspirational gentleman, who has been busy undertaking computer lessons at his Armagh Residential Home, has proved that even at the grand old age of 97 – it is never too late to learn! Ronald Heasty, who has been a resident at Sunnymead Residential Home since last October, is eager to use the World Wide Web, to keep up to date with 21st Century life.The former Army officer, used a computer for the first time last year, at his then home in harrow London. At this time Mr Heasty had two computer lessons and with this knowledge he was able to ‘Google’ Sunnymead Residential Home and decided to relocate here and this is where he now calls home. Sunnymead celebrate the end of a busy year!

As the curtain closes on 2012, the Residents who live in the Sunnymead community celebrate what has been a very busy year! From Olympic Games and coffee mornings to concerts and summer trips, there has certainly been plenty to keep Sunnymead residents

Portadown care home manager make the movies!

Amanda Leitch from Portadown is manager of Sunnymead Residential Home Armagh. Amanda has recently stepped in front of the camera to star in an educational film about how to improve quality of life for older people who live in care homes. Official Opening of Sunnymead’s new conservatory!

Family and friends of Sunnymead Resident Nan Trimble, joined her last Friday (2nd November) as she cut the ribbon to the new Sunnymead Conservatory declaring it officially open. The conservatory has been given a home-fromhome feel with beautiful new decor, and is another area that Residents living in the Victorian-styled house can choose to spend their day. Continue reading

Making music at Sunnymead!

Sunnymead Residential Home in Armagh has been buzzing with the sound of music since the launch of their new choir. The Sunnymead Sunshine Choir, whose name was voted for by the Residents themselves, debuted at their very own concert in December and have since held performances in Saints and Scholar’s primary school and a local charity event!
